WSU Fine Arts Auditorium 5062 | Reception to follow with a special performance by Albert Miller

We are pleased and excited to welcome Jeffry Mitchell as our first artist-in-residence at the WSU Department of Fine Arts. Please join us on October 24 for an artist talk and reception!

Using a variety of materials and methods, including ceramics, printmaking, and drawing, Mitchell transforms kitsch subject matter into a study of complex human experiences, including death, sex, religion, and loss. Mitchell lives and works in Seattle and has been an Artist in Residence at the Archie Bray Foundation, the Vermont Studio Center, the MacDowell Colony, Zentrum für Keramik, a guest lecturer and critic at Harvard University and a recipient of the Joan Mitchell Foundation Painters and Sculptors Award, the Neddy Artist Fellowship Award and the Contemporary Northwest Art Award.
