From the Department Chair

Greetings!

We are thrilled to announce a significant and exciting change in our department’s name! As of this fall, we have taken on the nomenclature of the “Department of Art”. This change comes as part of our continuous efforts to evolve and align with the evolving landscape of artistic pursuits and educational excellence. We will continue to maintain the dynamic and vibrant community we all know so well. Our degree offerings will remain constant as will our dedication to creativity, visual literacy, and ideation.

The Department of Art embraces the diverse array of artistic mediums, styles, and ideas that our students and faculty engage with every day. As we like to say around here: “This is the place, there is nowhere like this place anywhere near this place so this must be the place.” Fine Arts Center, truly is a place where creativity knows no bounds and where imagination takes flight.

Our commitment to fostering a vibrant community of artists, thinkers, and innovators remains as strong as ever. As the Department of Art, we will continue to provide the same exceptional quality of education, mentorship, and resources that you have come to expect from us. This rebranding reflects our dedication to nurturing individuality, nurturing talents, and exploring the boundless potential that lies within each one of us.

As we embark on this exciting journey, we invite you to join us in celebrating the spirit of creativity that lives within our walls. Our new name better reflects the wide range of disciplines we cover and the limitless possibilities that art offers to enrich our lives and our world.
