Twisting around the Edge: Ink & Watercolor by Cao Zhengwei
Based on the traditional texture of Chinese Literati Painting and watercolor, these works incorporate various contemporary images, symbols, codes, stickers, and digital prints, in order to express the tangled and complicated relationship between older traditions and current practices, personal experiences and judgements.
Cao Zhengwei was born in Wanzhou District, Chongqing, China. After graduating from Fine Arts College of Southwestern University with a M.A., he is now an associate professor & vice dean in the Landscape Architecture Department of Architecture and Urban Planning College of Chongqing University. Zhengwei is a visiting scholar/artist in Fine Arts Department at Washington State University for Spring/Summer 2020.
